Adonde
France
To call Adónde merely ceramics would be a severe understatement. The work of a French engineer/artist and a Nicaraguan with an anthropology background, Adónde attempts to redefine our environment, particularly around the dinner table. By using one raw material, they’re able to simplify an object and break any predeterminations about its purpose, thus making it more useful as well as something beautiful to exhibit. It’s this minimalistic and low tech philosophy that leads
to objects that are plain but that can be used differently for various purposes. The Cylinder Modular Stoneware collection thinks outside the box by creating an ambiguous aesthetic that doesn’t assign a specific role. A salad bowl can be a soup plate, a plate over a salad bowl is a lid, a bowl is also an oven casserole or a box to store leftovers in the fridge. Adónde’s philosophy has seduced kitchens worldwide, including renowned chefs Alain Ducasse and Gerald Passedat.
